1966 Gibson J-200 Natural (sold)
An absolutely unplayed, mint condition 1966 Gibson J-200........what a phenomenal find! This guitar presents as new and is probably the finest natural that I've had from this era. How could it get better??? Beautiful figured maple rims and back with a solid spruce top, custom floral pickguard, rosewood fingerboard and bridge with the original tune-o-matic in place, original waffle back Grover tuners and in impeccable condition. It also has its original Fuller brace which usually dampens the tone of these "whispering giants", but doesn't seem to in this instance. One very tight left of center seam crack in a dark bit of grain from shrinkage. It has a big, whomping voice with that characteristic maple box tone. Easy to play, it is a hard one to put down once you get her movin' !! Great example of the '60's Gibson J-200.
Super and typical woody, thumpy voice with that maple "box" sound.....only a J-200 can make this noise and it's famous for it. Comes with its original hard shell case.
