1980 Olsen Dreadnought
What a rare opportunity !! Jim Olsen's 46th guitar of this first batch of instruments that he created......and he had it right from the beginning. Olsen's are among the most sought after guitars on the planet and James Taylor wouldn't have them if they weren't. It's very interesting to have exposure to Jim's earliest work to realize that his unique bracing and construction characteristics created the Olsen sound from the start. Hard to describe verbally, so just listen to James Taylor or any other recording artist that uses Olsen's to understand. This example is all original with bags of playwear which is unusal for Olsens as they are usually worshipped instead of played. D shaped neck profile with a strong shoulder that really allows the hand a lot of freedom of movement. Characteristically Indian Rosewood that behaves like Brazilian and his trademark laminate neck and headstock. I really won't go on about this guitar. If you know them, you know them and if you don't you should.
