1948 C.F. Martin 000-21 (sold)
Magnificent. A brilliantly clean and exceptinal 1948 Martin in what I've always said is my favorite model: the 21 series brazilian 000. Fine luthiers choice straight grained brazilian rosewood back and rims and all original. This year we find the toned top being done so it now has a gorgeous, deeply rich patination overall with only very minor playwear below the high e. Just a superbly preserved example in what could be considered it's original Lifton case. Musically, it's extremely articulate and clear w with rich, warm tones and a slight sense of dryness which is why I love this series. It's haunting and yet not over persistent......giving the player a great sense about what is happening. 2nd time in the gallery and so glad to see it back.
