1953 Gibson Southern Jumbo
What a lovely instrument this is. In just superb condition, all original and it plays with ease. Beautiful burst and finish, great structure on the bridge and just an all around great Gibson. Sonically, it is unusually clear and clean with a very balanced image. The SJ tends to be a bit brighter than the J-45 and this is no exception but it also has a whispering side that is articulate and enticing. A healed crack to the right of the pickguard is the only one that it has so there are no structural issues. If you have ever wanted a Southern Jumbo, it would be very difficult to beat this one.
