1924 C.F. Martin 2-17
This is the first model made by Martin that was specifically designed and braced for steel strings......and it's a very rare thing.. Scalloped double tone bars and X brace, all mahogany and an amazing big little guitar.. All original with one crack next to the original bridge which has been stabilized, it's a magical little instrument. We never see instruments this early with steel strings on them and we never ever see this model for sale. It's as simply made as a guitar could be but with all the elements of a much larger Martin of a slightly later period. Fingerpicking is just a delight with this and it would record in ways nothing else would. Rare rare and rare............and more importantly. Magical.
