1933 C F Martin Shade Top 0 17
What a beautiful machine this is. A rare, early 30's shade top mahogany topped 0-17 in all original condition with the most gorgeous patination, playwear and finish. I've never had one like this and it has a burst finish, which I also have never owned before but have seen a few others over the years.. The beauty of these pre-war all mahogany guitars is that they were built to the same specs as all their spruce topped guitars so the sound quality that they produce is just beautiful. Thin whispy fully scalloped bracing, small maple bridge plate , bar frets and a really gorgeous radius to the neck. Just the right amount of wood to give you the perfect playing feel. The finish is dark and transparent showing all the grain and color......the logo has turned golden and it's just .....well, the best of the best. and.....there is one listed in Kansas City now for $18,000.
