1946 C F Martin 000-18
A truly lovely example of a rare and all original Martin taper braced 000-18. This post war period finds Martin with nice chunky necks and the much lauded taper bracing which defines the mid range and brings about a beautifully resonant and harmonic guitar. Hutton confirms that this particular guitar was stamped on December 4, 1946 and cleared final inspection on March 3, 1947. Hutton also confirms that the top is a 4 piece Adirondack spruce example. It has the war period ebony truss rod as well, so possibly a war era production guitar that didn't make the stamping room until 1946.. It feels beautiful to play and sonically, it's rich and fat with long running sustain and colors of harmonics that abound. Just now back in stock, it is now ready for all of those who know the graces of such a machine.
