1949 C.F. Martin 000-18
CITES Article 10 Certificate #553239/02
A well played example of the post-war Martin mahogany bodied guitar. All original excluding the bridge, which is a very acceptable brazilian replacement, and with a voice that is really sublime. Very played in with lots of evidence of same, the backtones are sweet and fat, creating a beautiful cathedral-like sound. It plays beautifully and needs nothing. Original tortoise guard and open back octagonal tuners. (probably Klusons) It has a few healed small hairline cracks but nothing to mention and the neck has a lovely D shaped radius that is very comfortable. The back and neck have a light overspray that is hard to detect.
It's always a treat to play these 1940's Martins.....they sure don't make them like they used to !!!
