Back to A Rare Collection of 4 Early Martins

1907 00 28

Product Code: CSC-004

Less than 5 examples of the 000-28 were built in this year and the model was a special order until the late 1890's so it's still a fledgling size at this point.  This example is of museum quality from every perspective.  Brazilian rosewood backs and sides of incredible quality with an Adirondack Red Spruce top, cedar neck and ebony bridge and board. The body is herringbone bound and the back has the famous zipper strip center inlay. There are fingerboard snowflake inlays at positions 5,7 and 9, which were introduced in 1901. The headstock has friction tuner pegs that are all original.  The guitar is in unplayed condition and has a truly exceptional voice, with great articulation and sound separation. It's another world from all perspectives with a playing attitude that feels like nothing in your hands....... to a sound that is something you won't have heard.  Mature, warm and very sensitive yet full and rich in a way that you will not want to put down.
