1947 C.F. Martin 000-21

CITES Article 10 Certificate #553239/01

An extremely rare example of a post war 000-21 in lovely condition. First year for the rosewood board and bridge, first year for the large graduated dot inlays to the board and last year for the herringbone zip strip on the back. But most importantly......it's a long-taper braced example. In my book......better than scalloped for rosewood. By '48, this was gone.......replaced by the flat topped bracing that we see today.  Exceptionally beautiful brazilian rosewood rims and back with a sitka spruce top and brazilian rosewood board and bridge.  It's well known that the 21 series Martin guitar is my favorite for warmth, rounded notes and a sonorous integrity.  This guitar reaches the pinnacle of those attributes.  Crisp and clear with a warmth and harmonics that belie it's smaller size.  Huge sustain and projection with backtones that swell from the soundhole once played and a harmonic wash that is nothing less than that of a cathedral.  Amazing guitar.  Golden Era.  Martin.
